INDICATIONS
Proscar is used for treating urinary problems brought on by an enlarged prostate related (benign prostatic hyperplasia, BPH). It is also employed to lower the potential risk of needing surgery to deal with BPH. It could be used with another medicine (doxazosin) in order to reduce the chance of worsening BPH. Proscar is a kind of steroid reductase inhibitor. It works by reducing the amount of the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by the body processes. This makes the prostate related smaller, which helps to ease urinary problems.
