INDICATIONS
Crestor is used for lowering high cholesterol levels and triglycerides in a few patients. It also increases high-density lipoprotein (HDL, "good") levels of cholesterol. It is also used to slow atherosclerosis (narrowing with the arteries) in patients with good blood cholesterol. It is employed together with the right diet. Crestor can be an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, often known as a "statin." It works by reducing the production of certain fatty substances by the body processes, including cholesterol.
