Reminyl (Galantamine) increases the function of nerve cells in the brain. It works by preventing the breakdown of a chemical called acetylcholine (ah see til KO leen). People with dementia most often have lower levels with this chemical, which is necessary for the processes of memory, thinking, and reasoning.
Galantamine can be used to take care of mild to moderate dementia due to Alzheimer's disease.

INSTRUCTIONS
Take prescription drugs just as it had been prescribed for you personally. Do not go ahead and take medication in larger amounts, or go on it for longer than recommended from your doctor. Follow the directions on the prescription label.

Stop using galantamine and call a medical expert simultaneously if you have chest pain, slow heart rate, blood in your stools, paying up blood, decreased urination, weakness, confusion, extreme thirst, or hot, dermititis.
There are many other medicines that will communicate with galantamine. Tell a medical expert about each of the prescription and over-the-counter medications you have. This includes vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not employ a new medication without telling your physician.
